ISLAMABAD: It has been decided to establish Margalla View Point at the place of two restaurants recently demolished at Pir Sohawa Islamabad on the directions of Supreme Court.

The families will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the nature at the hill point as per the new plan. According to the details its aim is to restore the hilltop of the Margalla Hills National Park, providing a recreational area for the public while preserving the natural environment.

The project is designed to promote public participation and wildlife. Comfortable benches will be installed for families going for recreation to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The vacated area will be planted with native plants to promote biodiversity and create a natural habitat for wildlife. Educational displays will be installed to raise awareness of local fauna. A water storage system will be installed for better use of water. The walls of the hill will be retained but the concrete will be removed from the inside to allow for planting.

A center will be set up for immediate response and first aid for emergency situations, especially fire fighting. A policy of switching off solar lights after sunset will also be implemented to reduce wildlife interference, it said. This plan has been prepared by the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board in the light of the decisions of the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Islamabad High Court. According to the plan, the hilltop will be converted as Margalla Viewpoint where measures will be taken for public recreation and awareness about local flora and fauna.
