Sports Patron Asma Shah calls on Commissioner Karachi

KARACHI: Prominent sports patron Asma Shah, wife of former Sindh Minister Muhammad Ali Shah (late), called on Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon at his office here yesterday and discussed the ways and means to promote sports in the city.

The Commissioner lauded the role of Asghar Ali Shah Foundation and legendary Dr Shah’s family in promotion of sports in the city and hoped that they will continue with the same zeal and spirit as sports are a must for maintaining peaceful atmosphere in the city. KBBA president Ghulam Muhammad Khan was also present on the occasion. Asma Shah, who is the first and only female Member of  MCC (Melbourne Cricket) from Pakistan apprised the commissioner about the work being done by her family for the sake of sports in the city. It may be recalled here that Asma Shah is also the Sports Committee Chairperson of North Nazimabad Gymkhana and her role for promoting wheel chair sports is exemplary in the city.
