‘CM Elahi can’t take vote of confidence as lawmakers numbers short’

LAHORE: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi does not have 186 members in Punjab Assembly, resultantly he cannot take vote of confidence under any circumstances.

Talking to media here he added that coalition government has 179 members in provincial assembly and that government can be successful in run-off election.

Sana maintained that he “will go to Islamabad only after withdrawing Punjab government”. Comments by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader came as LHC resumed hearing of CM’s petition against his de-notification by Governor Balighur Rehman for not taking vote of confidence under Article 130 (7) of Constitution.
