‘CHARTER OF KARACHI’ BE SOON UNVEILED BY BILAWAL BHUTTO

Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leader and Member Rabita Committe Aslam Afridi joined Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP).

Addressing press conference flanked by PPP senior leaders Dr. Asim Hussain, Masroor Ahsan, Asad Hanif, Shahzad Majeed and others Afridi said, "I did not have any issue with MQM-P’s ticket. However, MQM-P is missing genuine leadership''.

Afridi said that he will work as per the vision of the PPP Chairman and will put all his efforts in bringing comfort to the masses without any discrimination.

Meanwhile, Dr Asim Hussain while addressing the presser welcomed Aslam Afridi and said that from now onwards we have decided that every new joining will be witnessed at the district central office of the party. He said Afridi’s joining is just the trailer, much more is coming ahead.

PPP leader said party is ready to welcome friends intending to join PPP from different political parties and added that we don’t have any enmity with anyone, we want to work for the betterment of the city.

Speaking to the media persons, Dr Asim Hussain said that the people in the district central have seen that PPP has completed development projects worth billions even without having any representation or Chairman in District Central and this is without any doubt a testament to the fact that PPP sincerely desires to work for the betterment of the masses and the area.

DrAsim also revealed that in discussions held with the Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he urged him to announce a ‘Charter for Karachi’ that will be aimed towards availability of the immediate necessities for the well-being of the Karachiites.

Among other issues, the most important is the water shortage, secondly, industrial zones providing employment opportunities to the people are facing difficulties in running businesses due to economic disparity so PPP will focus on how to facilitate the business community through proper process of revamping and ensuring business-friendly environment and the third issue is the massive level of the encroachments which has brought an immense destruction to the Karachi’s infrastructure resulting into the severe traffic congestions and that encouraged illegal constructions.

PPP leader expressed optimism that party would win elections in Karachi with huge number of votes.

Later, Dr Asim also informed media that on Jan 28, PPP will hold big rally at Five-Star Chowrangi where two more big names will join PPP. Asad Hanif candidate for PS-129 will be leading the rally.

Dr Asim Hussain said that PPP is only party that delivered whenever it was in government and people would never forget sacrificies made by PPP leaders for sake of country socio-economic stability and democracy.

Development of joining PPP by other parties leaders came after Asif Ali Zardari former President said, "Karachi belongs to PPP. We are trying to restore city's glory. Those who wanted unrest and spread hate had harmed city."

"We want to see surge in investment opportunities in Karachi from worldwide. We hope that Karachi will become economic hub way Dubai has developed."
