KARACHI: In a significant development, the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports (DGI&P) has acquired two new e-Passport printers and six desktop printers from Germany.

This enhancement is expected to boost the printing capacity of e-Passports nationwide. The new printers have the capability to print up to 1,000 passports per hour, significantly reducing the processing time. This development is a result of the efforts made by DG Passport, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, who visited Germany to inspect the printers and meet with technical experts.

The key benefits includes: The new printers will enable faster processing and printing of e-Passports, reducing waiting times for applicants, the increased printing capacity will cater to the growing demand for e-Passports, ensuring timely delivery to citizens. The DGI&P's efforts aim to provide a more efficient and convenient service to Pakistani citizens, both domestically and overseas.

The introduction of e-Passports in Pakistan has been a significant step towards enhancing security and facilitating travel for citizens. With these new printers, the DGI&P is committed to further improving the passport issuance process, making it more efficient and accessible for all.
