Contemporary development of education sector need of the hour: President

ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi has called for development of education sector in line with modern trends. Addressing inaugural ceremony of a three-day conference on ‘Emerging Trends in English Language Teaching in Pakistan: Challenges and Opportunities’ here he stressed on enhanced international cooperation to bridge communication gap in global age of digitalisation.  

US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome said United States highly values its ties with Pakistan and is committed to strengthen same. He said people to people contacts are at heart of our bilateral ties and we look forward to deepen engagement and strengthen cooperation in realm of education. Ambassador said this conference is a golden opportunity for professional networking, learning and developing new skills. 

Conference has been organised by Allama Iqbal Open University in collaboration with US Embassy. 

Large number of local and foreign researchers participated in different thematic and technical sessions of conference. Some 159 papers also presented in conference. Conference is providing a forum to academia to engage and enhance creative and teaching skills of English language teachers in country.
