CM Maryam calls for 5-year strategic plans from departments

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has instructed officials to include parliamentary secretaries in departmental meetings to enhance coordination and execution of government policies.
In meeting with provincial ministers, parliamentary secretaries and administrative secretaries, she emphasized importance of these secretaries in government framework, describing them as vital assistants in implementing policies. Chief Minister directed parliamentary secretaries to gather comprehensive details about ongoing projects within their respective departments and submit detailed five-year vision report.
She underscored that parliamentary secretaries hold equal importance to ministers in her eyes, stressing that effective governance cannot be achieved by any single individual alone. She highlighted necessity of collective effort, noting that five-year term is brief and every day is crucial for serving public effectively. she encouraged parliamentary secretaries to be accessible to public and to work diligently.
She shared that Chinese investors view Punjab as land of opportunities, which she believes underscores potential for growth and development in province. she expressed frustration over past political hostility, which she believes has harmed Pakistan’s progress. She defended her administration’s record, asserting that government has initiated numerous projects in just six months that would be difficult to match in five-year span. She pointed to declining inflation rates and falling prices for essential goods like flour and milk in Punjab compared to other provinces.
Chief Minister revealed that efforts are underway to deliver Kisan Cards to farmers and provide substantial subsidies through green tractor scheme. Chief Minister highlighted ongoing relief measures for electricity consumers and improvements in police and administrative performance through Key Performance Indicators system. She emphasised need for all public servants to prove their dedication to their roles and announced that services cards for minority communities would also be launched.
