KARACHI: SHO Hyderi Market Faisal Rafiq was suspended by SSP Central for alleged misuse of official powers after reports of incident on written request of President Public Aid Committee. Explanation has also been sought from SDPO North Nazimabad Aslam Rajpar.

On Sunday September 4 residents of area protested during water connection by Water Board near KDA Chowrangi. Police were present to maintain law and order situation where there was a bitter exchange and scuffle between police and residents of area in which SHO Hyderi Market Faisal Rafiq was also injured.

Later a written request from residents of area and President Public Aid Committee, SHO was suspended and in light of request, an inquiry is being made into allegations of torturing a local businessman and his son and taking them to police station. Legal and departmental action will be taken against official found involved.
