Afghanistan reach Lahore for Asia Cup

ISLAMABAD: Hashmatullah Shahidi will lead the side in Asian event Afghanistan team reached Lahore ahead of Asia Cup 2022, which is set to start in Multan on August 30. The Afghans will start their campaign against Bangladesh on September 3 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Afghanistan announced 17-member squad for the Asian event. Hashmatullah Shahidi will continue leading the side. Under his captaincy, Afghanistan lost three-match ODI series against Pakistan in Sri Lanka.

After beating Afghanistan, Pakistan once again grabbed the number one position in the ICC ODI rankings. The hosts will play Nepal in the tournament's opener on August 30 in Multan.
