Ahsan vows to collectively overcome challenge posed by floods

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal reaffirmed government’s commitment to collectively overcome challenge posed by floods. Chairing a meeting of National Flood Response and Coordination Centre here yesterday, he directed relevant authorities to take steps on emergency basis to save people from water borne diseases in flood affected areas.

He said that process of damage assessment surveys should be accelerated for rehabilitation of flood victims. He noted that accurate statistics through dashboard will prove to be very significant in present situation. Minister for Planning said NGOs and INGOs should also be activated to participate in relief efforts. He asked departments concerned to provide necessary information to flood victims about relief camps.
