KARACHI: Renowned writer and intellectual Anwar Maqsood has said that the purpose of establishing institutions like Al-Furqan Organisation is to send educated people to the assemblies.

I have been invited to today’s ceremony, but even if I had not been invited, I would have come here. It is unfortunate that the least amount of money has been spent on education out of all the budgets that have come so far. He was addressing a fund-raising ceremony for the students of Al-Furqan Schools at the residence of renowned businessman Zahid Hameed as the chief guest. He said that educational institutions like Al-Furqan are more needed than ever before, so that millions of children who are out of school can go to school and get an education. He said that there is also a need for compulsory education for adults as well as children, so that a good society can be established and changes can be brought about in the assemblies. 

He said that the main reason for the increase in the stock exchange is Imran Khan’s stay in jail. If he were out, the stock exchange would have It never goes that high. On this occasion, senior film and TV artist Behrooz Sabzwari said that may Allah bless Anwar Maqsood, I have known him for 50 years. He is an asset to this country. Behrooz Sabzwari said that Al-Furqan Organisation is a ray of light in the darkness. Faryal Asif has done the work that is the responsibility of the people of this country. 

Host Zahid Hameed thanked the guests, said that the participation of such large number of people has made it clear that the people of Karachi have a special interest in education. President Organisation Faryal Asif said that she is very grateful to Anwar Maqsood for taking out time to come here. She said that the school, which started with 16 children, 2 teachers and 1 room, today has 16 branches in Sindh, 3 thousand children are studying, out of which 14 schools are in Karachi and 2 are in interior Sindh.  She said that if the children studying in these schools If the girls continue to be encouraged, no one can stop them from moving forward. Yasmin Hussain, Imran Aslam, Murad Soni, Kamran Habib, Kashif Chawla and others also spoke.

In addition to donating crores of rupees, various people also announced fees of the studying boys and girls. Shields were also presented to the guests who present at the ceremony. The boys and girls of Al-Furqan School specially participated in the ceremony.
