LAHORE : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering replacing Babar Azam as team’s Test captain, it emerged. According to media reports, the decision is being considered due to his recent poor performance during the home series Test against New Zealand, England, and Australia.
Decisions regarding the captaincy and the tenure of the head coach and bowling coach are expected to be made at the end of the home season. Interim Chairman Najam Sethi's decision to make Shan Masood the vice-captain is also a link in this chain, while it has also been decided to reduce Babar Azam's influence in all three formats. Even earlier, reports were circulating that separate captains can be appointed for the national cricket team in all three formats. Shan Masood is a strong contender to replace Babar Azam as the captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team in ODI and test cricket. The Pakistan Cricket Board expects some important and big decisions in the upcoming period, which includes captain, coach, bowling coach, and support staff.
