While cricket fans across Pakistan are expressing frustration and disappointment over the national team’s underwhelming performance in the 2025 Champions Trophy, celebrities have also voiced their discontent.

Actress Sonya Hussain participated in a special broadcast of a private television show dedicated to the tournament, where she shared her thoughts on Pakistan’s cricketing performance. When asked about her favourite cricketers, Sonya Hussain revealed that she was once a big fan of Babar Azam, but her opinion had changed.

“I used to like Babar Azam a lot, but not anymore,” she said. Hussain further mentioned that although she now has a favourite player, she couldn’t recall their name at the moment. The actress described Pakistan’s performance in the tournament as “disappointing,” adding that the team’s poor show had left many fans heartbroken. As the Champions Trophy enters its final stages, the semi-final line-up includes India, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand. The first semi-final will take place in Dubai on Tuesday, featuring India and Australia, while the second semi-final will be held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday between South Africa and New Zealand.

The winners of both semi-finals will meet in the final on March 9. If India qualifies for the final, the match will be held in Dubai; otherwise, the final will take place in Lahore.
