Community Police Karachi all set to ‘dampen spirits’ of street crimes

Karachi: In order to eradicate the spate of street crimes in Karachi, Community Police Karachi (CPK) under Clean, Green and Secure initiative is playing a pivotal role through coordinated efforts of the residents of different areas and Karachi police.
CPK Chief Murad Ali Soni, Deputy Chief Operations Khawaja Jamal Sethi and entire team of its office bearers is taking all necessary steps regarding proper vigilance to curb criminal activities which has undoubtedly become a menace in the society and have caused havoc to the lives of Karachiites.
Recently, three CPK centres have been established inside Nazimabad, North Nazimabad and Azizabad Police stations for close liaison between area dwellers and respective police stations in order to create harmony and prompt action against anti-social elements. In this connection, a project of around 300 Close Circuit TV cameras installation is on cards while out of these 300, 100 were installed in Control and Command rooms situated in these police stations with proper Wireless system which is also intact while two cops perform monitoring duty in shifts round the clock in every police station control room.
Moreover, in every police station, fifteen to twenty members committee of area people is formed and around 200 volunteers are selected for coordination between police and the area people.
