Dr. Shafaq Akhtar represented Pakistan for first time in Miss Planet in Cambodia. After fun filled week of activities, Dr. Shafaq Akhtar represented Pakistan well during coronation night of function and won Miss Humanity Award for Pakistan. Talking in an interview with Daily National Courier she said, "I feel very proud and happy. There were many Cambodians locals who were cheering me in crowd as well as I was surprised to see many well established Pakistani business community present in audience.

" They came and personally thanked me for representing Pakistan and that is when I felt very happy and accomplished. This is my second title that I have brought home and its given me purpose for life!" Furthermore, Sonia Ahmed, President of Miss Pakistan while talking to Daily National Courier when ask about Dr. Shafaq Akhtar titles replied, "Dr. Shafaq Akhtar is one of few girls who dedicated herself to this industry with passion and it can be said indubitably that this industry demands hard work, dedication and incessant efforts. Without passion for pageant world, girls cannot go ahead. She added, "I am very glad that we have brought home titles for Pakistan."
