KARACHI: Gold price extended gains despite decrease in international rates. According to data issued by All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association price of gold (24 carats) gained Rs 1,800 per tola and Rs 1,542 per 10 grams to settle at Rs 222,900 per tola and Rs 191,100 per 10 grams respectively. Meanwhile, price of yellow metal lost $ 12 to settle at $ 1,966 in international market.

Gold rate has been volatile in Pakistan recently amid continued political and economic uncertainty and high inflation. Data shared by association showed price of silver also made minor losses as it fell by Rs 150 and Rs 128.6 to settle at Rs 2,650 per tola and Rs 2,357.68 per 10 grams respectively.

Yellow metal price increased by Rs 13,200 per tola ahead of Muharram. However, day earlier, price of bullion declined by Rs 5,300 per tola and Rs 4,544 per 10 grams.
