DUBAI: International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominees for the Player of the Month awards for February, highlighting standout performances across international cricket.

The shortlist features key contributors from the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy and the Women’s Ashes, alongside a rising star from Thailand. Men’s Player of the Month Nominees: Shubman Gill (India) Gill continued his fine form in February, scoring 406 runs at an average exceeding 100. His performances against England included knocks of 87 and 60, followed by a match-winning 112 in Ahmedabad.

Glenn Phillips (New Zealand): Phillips delivered with the bat in the Tri-Nation series in Pakistan before the Champions Trophy. He struck an explosive 106 in Lahore, followed by scores of 28 and 20. In New Zealand’s Champions Trophy opener, he contributed a quick 61 and took a crucial catch to dismiss Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan in a 60-run victory. Steve Smith (Australia): Smith excelled as Australia’s stand-in captain during their World Test Championship series in Sri Lanka. He scored centuries in both matches, with 141 in the first Test and 131 in the second, leading his team to a 2-0 series sweep and earning the Player of the Series honour.
