Kanpur: India’s openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal shattered test cricket world record during day 4 of second test against Bangladesh here.
After bowling Bangladesh out for 233 in their first innings, Rohit and Jaiswal came out with aggressive intent, hitting boundaries right from start. Duo brought up 50 runs in just three overs, marking first time in test cricket history that team reached 50-run milestone within three overs since data collection began. Previously, England held record for fastest team fifty in test cricket, scoring it in 26 balls against West Indies at Trent Bridge earlier this year. India also went on to break world record for fastest team hundred in test cricket, reaching 100 runs in just 10.1 overs, surpassing their own previous best of 12.2 overs against West Indies in 2023.
