Kim Kardashian recently shared her thoughts on the importance of exposing her children to diverse individuals and experiences, particularly when it comes to understanding disabilities.
In a recent episode of The Kardashians aired on April 3rd, Kim reflected on her kids’ interactions with Amari Thompson, the brother of Tristan Thompson, who suffers from Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy. During the episode, Khloe Kardashian organized a birthday party for Amari, which prompted discussions about the challenges he faces due to his condition.
Kim, who shares her children with ex-husband Kanye West, emphasized how crucial it is for her kids to be around people from different walks of life. “I love our kids growing up around him and helping him,” Kim said, acknowledging that while her children, like her daughter Chicago, may feel uneasy at times, it is important for them to interact with and learn about those with special needs. Khloe added that her daughter, True, is more concerned than scared of Amari, noting how vital it is for kids to be exposed to a wide range of experiences and individuals.
Kim agreed, saying that while it’s normal for children to have questions and feel uncomfortable initially, learning about others’ differences helps cultivate empathy. The party was a reminder of the importance of fostering understanding and compassion, especially in young children. Despite a brief seizure Amari had during the event, the family continued to show support, reinforcing the values of inclusivity and kindness.
