PM visit to bolster all-weather strategic ties: Chinese envoy

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong has said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to his country would inject strong impetus to upgrade all-weather strategic cooperation between two friendly nations, according to statement issued.

PM will leave for China on Tuesday for five-day visit at invitation of his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang, “PM Shehbaz’s visit will provide constant boost to Pakistan’s economic and social development and send-strong signal of solidarity and cooperation between our two countries to international community,” Ambassador said.

He expected leaders of two countries to reach new important consensus on high quality development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Ambassador Jiang said that during PM Shehbaz’s visit, there was no doubt that leaders from both sides will reiterate firm support for each other on respective core interests and major concerns.

He highlighted that as landmark project of Belt and Road international cooperation, batch after batch of schemes had been launched, completed as well as put into operation under framework of CPEC.

Ambassador said during this visit, PM Shehbaz would meet with Chinese President Xi, Premier Li Qiang and Chairman of Standing Committee of National People’s Congress Zhao Leji to exchange views on major subjects in bilateral relations between two countries.

According to Pakistani FO spokesperson, premier will visit cities of Beijing, Xian and Shenzhen during his trip to China.
