Political stability, youth empowerment essentials for bright future: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal reiterated that political stability was must for taking country towards progress, prosperity and bright future.

“If we want to lead country towards progress, then we need to ensure political stability and continuation of policies.”

Addressing launching ceremony of PM’s Youth Development Initiatives under vision of Prime Minister, Ahsan Iqbal said that youth form two-third of country’s population, hence there was dire need to provide opportunities of education, skill development and employment for brighter future.

He said, being Minister it was his responsibility to lead them to better future so that they could play due role in economic development of country.

He urged young generation not to pay heed towards anybody’s propaganda, adding that they should take steps keeping in view their goals and objectives. He said, Pakistan was recognised in world by its youth who have been getting education in top educational institutions across world.

He underlined need for providing sports facilities to young people saying as many as 250 mini-sports complexes would be established in country to help them harness their talent.

Under US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor Project, thousands of Pakistani students would go to top institutions of America for Ph.D on scholarships. He announced establishment of 21 sub-campuses of top universities in different districts of country.

He said, government added 11 megawatt electricity in national grid system in 2018 and also rid country of menace of terrorism. In addition, it also introduced many successful projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

He highlighted importance of ending polarisation, adding nobody should be allowed to impose his/her ideas on others, saying being Pakistan was our biggest identity.
