PSF, Serena Hotels and Combaxx Sports jointly organizing Chief of Air Staff-International Squash Championship for Men-Women

ISLAMABAD:  Chief of the Air Staff -International Squash Championship for Men & Women is organized by Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) in collaboration with Serena Hotels and Combaxx Sports and is scheduled to be played from October 19 to 23 at Mushaf Squash Complex. 

Giving details of the Championship, the Honorary Secretary General of Pakistan Squash Federation, Group Captain Zafaryab Iqbal, informed that the grand opening ceremony of the Championship is scheduled at 3 p.m on Oct 19 whereas the championship finals would be played on October 23.  About the prize money, he said the Men's event has an attractive prize purse of US$ 30,000/-, whereas the Women's event has US$ 12,000 prize money.  

Giving further details he said that the Pakistan Squash Federation has been putting tremendous efforts for the revival of international squash in the country. In the same context, it has organed the CAS-Serena Hotels International For Men & Serena-Combaxx Sports International Squash Championship For Women - 2022.  ­­­Apart from Pakistan, a group of 30 foreign players from 14 countries (Germany, Spain, Egypt, Singapore, Austria, Malaysia, Serbia, USA, Hungary, England, Qatar, Czech Republic, Iran & Kuwait) will be playing in Men & Women events.  "It may be recalled here that Pakistan Air Force under the patronage of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, has been extending tremendous support to Pakistan Squash Federation for the game's promotion in the country and we are hopeful for bringing the glories back to the country, which we have enjoyed for many years in the past", Mr Zafaryab observed, adding "On the other hand, besides Govt support, with keen interest and support of the corporate sector, especially Serena Hotels & Combaxx Sports the event is likely to live up to the expectations with their support along with PAF."   

Zafaryab Iqbal hoped that their efforts will bear fruit and Pakistan will regain the top slot in the world of sports once again. He said that excellent arrangements have been made for the foreign players, who will surely enjoy the traditional hospitality of Pakistan during their stay in the federal capital Islamabad, hoping, this arrangement would surely help in raising the soft image of Pakistan over the world of squash, he boasted.
