LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf announced to take disciplinary action against five of its Punjab Assembly lawmakers for not voting in favour of Chief Minister Parvez Elahi at midnight’s dramatic vote of confidence Wednesday and Thursday.

Five lawmakers who were absent from dramatic Punjab Assembly session on late Wednesday and early Thursday night include Dost Mazari, Khurram Laghari, Momina Waheed, Faisal Cheema and Chaudhry Masood.

Punjab government’s spokesperson Musarrat Jamshaid Cheema announced PTI will file reference in Election Commission of Pakistan to seek these members’ disqualification.

Cheema said her party was supposed to secure 191 votes while all important voting. These 191 votes were supposed to be given by PTI, PML-Q and Independent lawmakers, but Chief Minister secured 186 votes, since five were absent, she said.
