LONDON: In landmark collaboration, Pakistan cricket sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi has made history by becoming first Muslim, Asian and Pakistani athlete to officially launch new Manchester United football kit.

Fast bowler visited Old Trafford, the iconic home of Manchester United, for this special event, which marks a significant partnership between the cricket star and one of the world’s most prestigious football clubs.  A source within Manchester United shared club’s excitement about working with Shaheen.

“This collaboration is particularly meaningful,” source stated. “Shaheen Shah Afridi was invited by the Old Trafford administration to launch the official kit, recognising his athletic achievements and inspiring more young people to engage in sports. We anticipate further collaborations with Shaheen in the future.” Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi was seen visiting iconic Old Trafford, home ground of English football club Manchester United. Shaheen Afridi is currently enjoying his vacations in the United Kingdom, following busy cricket season. The star pacer was warmly welcomed at the Old Trafford, which is also called ‘Theatre of Dreams,’ and was also presented with personalised Manchester United jersey. The iconic red jersey emblasoned his surname Afridi and his shirt number 10, which was worn by football greats. Manchester United shared pictures from Afridi’s visit to their social media platforms, with caption “The eagle has landed.”
