Sonu Nigam is a popular Bollywood playback singer who is often hailed as the Modern Rafi because of his versatility and range. He is the most celebrated playback singers in Indian with a career spans over decades.

Some of his most famous songs include the soulful Kal Ho Naa Ho, Sandese Aate Hai, Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin, Suraj Hua Maddham, and Main Agar Kahoon.

Recently, Sonu Nigam appeared in Faridoon Sheharyar’s interview in which he thanked and expressed his special feelings for Atta Ullah Eesa Khelwi because Sonu Nigam started his career with covering Atta Ullah’s iconic song Acha Sila Dia Tu Ne Mere Pyar Ka. He also credited his success to the legendary singer.

Talking about it, Sonu Nigam said, “Definitely, he is a beautiful soul and holds great importance in my life. When my career just started with his songs, he called me and said, ‘Mr. Sonu, I am Atta Ullah Essa Khelwi from Pakistan, and I want to tell you that you sang it really well.’ I was just nineteen at that time.

It was very kind of him. I pray for all those legendary singers who contributed to my success—I am indebted to him. I credit all my success to them, and Acha Sila was the turning point of my career, a song that was heard by every person in India.”
