‘KE overbilling causing anger among Karachiites’

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan top brass apprised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of concerns. MQM-P delegation called on PM Shehbaz. In meeting, Prime Minister and MQM-P delegation discussed overall political situation. MQM-P’s leadership told PM Shehbaz that overbilling of K-Electric was causing anger among citizens.

Taking immediate action on request of MQM-P, PM ordered Power Minister Khurram Dastgir to meet K- Electric officials. PM Shehbaz said, “Khurram Dastgir should meet MQM-P and K-Electric officials on Monday”. MQM-P leadership was invited by PM Shehbaz to visit Islamabad on Tuesday.

Party demanded incumbent government release seventh population census’ interim results. PM Shehbaz assured MQM-P delegation that issue of caretaker government over census will be discussed with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz committee and officials of Ministry. All matters will be done in consultation with allies, he added. Meanwhile, PM Shehbaz was met by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Sindh Chief Minister.

MQM-P headed by Convenor Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui comprising Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Dr Farooq Sattar and Mustafa Kamal.

MQM-P delegation apprised PM to give top priority to resolving city issues specially K-IV project and infrastructure in order to liveup Karachi status to international standard.
