Mian Channu: Arshad Nadeem upon reaching his hometown, commented that Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra was his friend and brother.

He made these statements amid presence of hundreds of thousands of people in his hometown Mian Channu. Sportsmen spirit of Arshad Nadeem and Neeraj Chopra also made headlines from time to time as both are professional rivals but are friends and often called each other brothers. Neeraj Chopra hails from Haryana in Indian Punjab aka charda Punjab while Arshad Nadeem hails from Main Channu in Pakistani Punjab aka Lehnda Punjab. People of Mian Channu welcomed son of soil who made country’s name in international headlines despite his humble background. Ppeople of his city danced on drumbeat and even traditional dance of horses presented on arrival of Arshad Nadeem. Locals climbed on shops, trees and walls to see glimpse of Arshad Nadeem. Several people showered currency notes as token of jubilation-local tradition of Punjab to showcase happiness on happy occasions.

Neeraj Chopra mother called Arshad Nadeem as his son while Arshad Nadeem’s mother also called Neeraj Chopra as his son. Tale of two mothers united people across Punjab and both countries and social media flooded with humbleness of both mothers.
