Islamabad: Almost year after ceremonial removal as Punjab Governor by his former party PTI Chief Imran Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar  announced joining Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid.

Sarwar who announced his inclusion after his meeting with party's supremo Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain was removed from his position just days ahead of Khan's ouster following vote of no-confidence in April last year. Earlier this year, local sources shared that he was offered to join Pakistan Peoples' Party and PML-Q, as battle for 'Punjab throne' intensified during assembly dissolution episode in January.

Sources privy to matter said that Chaudhry Shujaat met former PTI leader twice back then and offered him to join his party.

"I was invited to join Pakistan Muslim League," politician said during presser adding that his first priority would be to "Strengthen party".

Expressing his dissatisfaction with current state of political affairs in country, Sarwar said, "Politicians are not willing to sit together in most difficult of situations."

He added that politicians work for power when they are in opposition however, no one thinks about what they must do after arriving in office.

Sharing his views about Pakistan Democratic Movement-led government in Islamabad, former Punjab Governor said that PDM will have to take strong measures economically. However, he vowed to stand behind Khan despite reservations. "On one hand, there was Prime Minister and on other, it was entire PTI. Bribery has reached grass-root level, but we vowed to stand with Khan," he added.
