Soldiers martyred in NWaziristan skirmish laid to rest with full military honours

RAWALPINDI: Six Pakistan Army soldiers who were martyred during skirmish with terrorists in Dirduni area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district have been laid to rest with full military honours.

Soldiers had lost their lives while effectively engaging terrorists at their location previous day, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said. Funeral prayers for Havaldar Saleem Khan (36, resident of Tank district), Naik Javed Iqbal (37, resident of Kohat district), Sepoy Nazir Khan (26, resident of Bannu district), Sepoy Hazrat Bilal (25, resident of Mardan district), Sepoy Syed Rajab Hussain (22, resident of Orakzai district) and Sepoy Bismillah Jan (22, resident of Khyber district) were initially offered at Bannu and later at their respective native towns. Large number of senior military officers, soldiers, civil officers, public figures, and relatives of martyred soldiers attended funeral prayers to pay their respects and honour brave servicemen who made ultimate sacrifice for their country.

ISPR reiterated determination of security forces to eliminate menace of terrorism in Pakistan. “Such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” military’s media wing said in statement.
